Privacy Policy

This policy outlines our strict data handling practices, local-first processing architecture, and commitments to video editor privacy.

1. Overview

PromoCutter is an Adobe Premiere Pro plugin developed and maintained by Mr. Butterworth’s (“Mr. B’s”,” "we," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how PromoCutter handles information in connection with its operation. PromoCutter is distributed to users or customers purchasing subscriptions through the Adobe Creative Cloud enterprise channel.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

PromoCutter is designed to operate entirely on your local machine. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any of the following:

• Personal identification information of any kind

• Media files, video content, audio recordings, or project assets you process

• Sequence names, project names, or timeline metadata

• Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioral data

• Device identifiers, IP addresses, or network information

• Adobe account credentials or Creative Cloud session data

3. Local Processing

All analysis performed by PromoCutter — including audio processing, transcription, and editorial computation — occurs entirely on your local computer. No media files, transcription results, or editorial decisions are transmitted to Users servers, third-party servers, or any external destination.

Temporary working files created during analysis are written to your local system's temporary directory and deleted automatically upon completion of each operation.

4. Log Files

PromoCutter writes operational log entries to a local file at ~/PromoCutter/analyze.log on your machine. This file is stored only on your local computer and is not transmitted externally. Log entries contain operational status information and error messages to assist with troubleshooting. No media content or personally identifiable information is written to this log.

5. Adobe Creative Cloud

PromoCutter is distributed through the Adobe Creative Cloud enterprise channel. Adobe's own privacy practices govern the installation and update delivery process. Please refer to Adobe's Privacy Policy at adobe.com/privacy for information about how Adobe handles data related to plugin distribution. PromoCutter itself does not interact with Adobe's servers during operation.

6. Third-Party Components

PromoCutter incorporates open-source software components for audio processing. These components operate entirely locally and do not communicate with external services. No data is transmitted to the developers or licensors of these components.

7. Children's Privacy

PromoCutter is an enterprise software tool intended exclusively for use by adult employees and contractors of Mr. B’s. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be distributed with new versions of PromoCutter via the Adobe Creative Cloud enterprise channel. Continued use of PromoCutter following distribution of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
